Painted using textural brushstrokes, and coastal hues, this piece is a study of collected shells from a recent vacation on Sanibel Island. I used impasto medium mixed with acrylic paint and stiff brushes to create the natural textures and forms within the shells. Saltwashed and sunbleached, I mixed colors reflecting the coastal atmosphere.
